This fits the description of Galveston State Park just up the road from Dellanera.

Hmm, here a pic of our most recent stay at Dellenera. I have always liked the park. They should not charge you for someone dropping by to pick you up. I would have never asked in the first place. I would ask about longer term parking, though. I think they only charge for parking if a vehicle has to be parked in one of their overflow parking areas assuming other parking rules are being followed.

That is a day use for the beach. It is not a charge for campers. Never been very busy when I have been there, but I have only been there in the winter. Summer most likely is more busy.

I drove past it last weekend. It's a very busy, and very crowded park. They're probably trying to discourage extra vehicles. And it doesn't look like they'll miss your business. :B

That does not include the toad. We stay there every summer. The $8 is for other people to park and use the beach. It's a really good place on the beach. It's owned and run by the city of Galveston. I heard the city is redoing the beaches so before you go, call and make sure their beach is good to go!

yep, when we stayed there they charged my daughter $5 to come in and pick us up. a dreadful park IMHO. horrible wind, had to take slide in, blew dish over, beach cluttered with sea weed, etc. had to pay for 50 amp site to get a decent non gravel one.
moved to bay side of island and much nicer.
