Denver Colorado FHU camogrounds?
Looking to make a trip to Denver the end of August. Anyone have recommendations for FHU campgrounds? I don't mind staying a few miles west of Denver in the mountains.

If you want the 3 and 5 yo's to have FUN just get them to the BEACH.
Water and Sand - they will self entertain for weeks, while you relax and enjoy.
In all my years (Lot of years - Older than Dirt) - girls, boys - Kids - put them with - water - sand - rocks - they will self entertain. Some of us kids grow older, Just never grow Up.
Just a thought, if you want them to have fun and you want to relax.
JMHO,- Stone Mountain is more than a campground. It is a total family destination. Lots of different things to do. One year we had an extra day while staying in Stone Mountain so we bought an "all events" ticket for the day. We two old folks joined what seemed like all the elementary schools of Georgia for a great day. Still remember it with pleasure--and we enjoyed the school children who helped us to know how to take part in the events.
- Have done Chatfield SP. Nice CG in a huge park.
- We camped at Dakota Ridge campground and liked it. They have many pull thru sites and are full hookups. The sites do have a strange layout with the campers facing each other. It has a nice bathroom and small pool. They are very strict on their rules but we chose it for the convenience to Denver.
