Desert Willow in Hesperia CA?

We are look for a decent place to spend a few days before & after our Disneyland trip before heading north. Any comments on this place or alternate suggestions? The places I see around Riverside don't look too good, unless I'm missing something? We will want FHU & big rig access. Thanks!

You could also check out Yucaipa Regional Park, very nice place, stayed their before. About an hour from Disneyland. Full hookups too. It's on the other side of the Cajon Pass and closer to Disneyland than Hesperia. About 15 minutes from Riverside.

  • Greetings! Not sure which direction you are comming from, headed to, staying near friends, how close you want to stay to Disney or other attractions, etc. but there are LOTS of nice places much closer. I used to live in Hesperia and have been going to Disneyland my whole life. It is a solid 1 1/2 hr from Disneyland, more if there is any traffic. And when you are tired after watching the fireworks, or closing out the park, it feels like a LONG haul to get back. Hesperia can also be hot, dry and windy this time of year due to Santa Ana conditions (like we are having this weekend)

I would highly recommend Canyon RV Park in the Anahiem hills. It is far enough out of the main city to feel more quiet and relaxed, grass and trees, large flat sites, and is only 15-30 minutes to just about anything you could possibly want to do. We stayed there almost a week, did a couple days at Disneyland (15-20 minutes away), relaxed and played outside, did some crafts. The Santa Ana river trail (goes from the mountains to the ocean) goes right past the campground, great for a nice bike ride. Even with the freeway nearby I was surprised how quiet it was. We really enjoyed our stay.

    Good Luck!

This is a nice park we are headed there in a couple of weeks for the weekend.
  • Canyon RV park in Anaheim. Please stay away from the Hesperia choice. As mentioned it is way to far from Disney. Unless you have a reason to be near Hesperia.
  • We have already made reservations for the Anaheim RV resort to be near our kids & grandkids. We have reservations following that in Bakersfield for a few days. After that, we hope to visit Sequoia, King's Canyon & Yosemite. (We know that we will need to stay outside of the parks somewhere.)

What we don't have now is somewhere to stay immediately before we go to Disneyland. We will be coming in on I15 from the east. We can't check in till 1pm. That gives us about a 2 hour max time frame for the trip in from wherever we stay. Suggestions? Thanks!

Very good advice RE Hesperia. Lots of choices around Disneyland if you want to get close to the park. Lots of good choices too and hour or less away as noted above.
  • Just took a quick drive-by of the Yucaipa Regional Park. We live in Beaumont, about a 15 minute drive, and never new it was in our backyard. We got a map of the place, which has two fishing lakes. It is well maintained, has nice grassy areas with lots of trees. It is only about a 5 to 10 minute drive to the I-10, and also within 10 minutes of Oak Glen and its apple orchards (apple picking season now). Yucaipa has a nice climate, and would certainly be a lot cooler than the high desert of Hesperia.
