DW and I visited Dinosaur back in 2012. I think we spent a couple of hours at the Visitor Center and the bone quarry. It is an interesting place and the kids should enjoy it. There is a shuttle that you take to get to the quarry from the Visitor Center, but you can take a one mile all downhill trail to go back. The trail goes by an un-excavated portion of the same rock formation that contains the bones that have been exposed in the quarry. We thought it was interesting to see how the bones were naturally weathering out of the rock. Touching the bones was neat too.
A word of warning - Bring water with you if you want to take the trail. It was over 100 degrees the day we were there (June 6th) and we were really dragging by the time we got back to the Visitor Center.
The Utah Field House in Vernal was also very interesting.
Some pictures from the Dinosaur Quarry

A leg bone in the weathering out of the rock along the trail

While I'm at it, a couple of pictures from Craters of the Moon, 2010.
Beauty Cave - Still a thin layer of ice on the floor on June 11th

The 2,000 year old lava flow looks recent

Indian Tunnel lava tube - about 800 ft long

Take Indian Tunnel all the way to the end so you can exit through this small hole and then walk off trail across the lava flow. The kids will love it! (We did too!)
