Disney! be careful!!!

People who do not live around water or gators.
Never think about something like this happening.

I would never even allow my grandkids anywhere near some place gators live, Disney allows gators on its property. Only a matter of time before something awful happens, and it did. Disney is responsible for the death of this child.

I thought that the youngster died at a hotel. Was the hotel actually a part of DW?

It happened at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort.

i don't want to get into this but disney is not responsible for this terrible accident. in the south where there is water there are gators.

Disney ALLOWS gators on its properties??? Comon, this is water in Florida. There's going to be gators, and you can't see them because the water is murky. I sincerely doubt they're "allowing" the gators onto their properties. You must be from "it's the fault of the guy with the deepest pockets" crowd.

I see them along the banks and near shore of the Intracoastal from time to time in the early AM hours when I'm walking my German Shepard (100 lbs), she wants nothing to do with them.....

Let me tell you this, we vacate the area pronto. I have never seen a seemingly large "sluggish" animal move as quickly as they do. Sometimes the light from my flashlight startles them and they seemingly do a 180 back flip in midair to get back in the water so quickly I can't believe what I saw ! It's a blur.

Later on the day I'll walk back to the park and see parents letting their kids swim in that same spot. I'm always walk over and tell them their taking a chance, most listen.

Alligators are present in almost every lagoon, pond, lake or body of water and I've even seen them in the ocean when I lived in Cape Canaveral. They will travel miles to find water and you will generally not know they are tbere.

I don't know how Disney would be at fault when gators are indigenous to the area and they do remove alligators as they're found. You can't expect Disney, or any other entity for that matter, to keep 24 hour quard on all areas where wildlife will exist even when human animal interaction can occur.

Yes it is tragic and I feel pain for the family, it's a tragic incident but unfortunately in today's "I'm entitled" society Disney will pay.

An interesting yet tragic event. Disney constantly culls out the bigger gators which of course indicates they know they can be a problem. Disney puts up signs telling those that can read not to swim which for most people means to stay out of the water. Two adults allow their two year old to wade out into the water ignoring the signs and placing their child in danger. The gator does what gators do and grabs what it thinks is dinner.

One has to feel sorry for the parents and family. I suspect Disney will fork over some cash even though I think they are less at fault than the parents.
