Dry Camping Silver Creek Idaho

I spend the first week of July here every year so my dog does not have to hear fire crackers. Yeah, it's all for my dog!!! :B

About 15 miles north of Crouch ID the campground is called Silver Creek Plunge. The office has a small store and full size swimming pool constantly fed by 100° hot springs. Very nice campgound, all paved, unlike the roads going in!! No hookups but have fire pits and picnic tables. Vault toilets and fresh water spigots.

I always try to reserve the last spot on the loop. Very private and no close neighbors. Icy cold trout stream a few feet away (shinny spot on left of pic).

Dining window view.

Fire Cracker Fraidy Cat!!!

I am an avid ATVer but not much riding here. Tons of single track tho.

Great hangout for Moose.

Didn't visit the hot springs. Temps in the 90's made the 100° water not so inviting. But caught lots of Brookies, had some great trail rides and both dog and I had a very relaxing trip.
  • Nice trip and of course the country is fabulous. I am just disappointed that you didn't wait for me! I need to get my truck pointed towards Idaho, real soon now.

    Happy camping.

  • DJ,
What a state! It has everything, including the great DJ. We spent our 2014-07-04 in quietness around the rancho. The flag was up; distant shotgun sounds late afternoon: 12 gauge, birdshot I believe. Not deep enough for 00 buck.
It's good to see you rotating your RV stock to fit the occasion. Most of us do not have that option.

  • We were about a half mile past there along the creek last year. It was nice but i have never seen so much trash left behind in campfire rings in my life.
  • DesertHawk, I sure hope you enjoy your Samurai as much as I enjoy mine.

  • Looks like a great spot, DJ. As for the dog, I can relate. I have a dog who's a whimp around firecrackers, too.

The new trailer is lookin' good.
  • Nice site, beautiful country, neat rig & bike. Thanks for posting.

Looked at a Yamaha like yours, but it was sold before I could get to the dealer. Bought a Yamaha XT 250 instead several years ago. Enjoyed it, but didn't ride it much after awhile. Sold it last year. Wanted a 4x4 Jeep & ended up with a Suzuki Samurai.

In April, we were seriously considering buying a new Nash TT, but went with a Lance instead. Nash seems to make a quality product for sure.
  • Quit telling everybody how nice Idaho is! Just kidding. There are so many great hidden places I guess we can share! Grat pictures.
