Durango campground?

We stayed at Alpin Rose RV par just north of Durango.

Nice facilities

Another vote for Alpine Rose. Nice place, fishing close.

Not meaning to get off topic but have you looked Here in Ouray - On the River and it's hard to Beat OURAY

Just a couple hours North on RT 550 or RT 145 - the San Juan's are just Beautiful - Ouray and Silverton are in the Heart of some of the most beautiful Mountains in Colorado.

I love Ouray. We were there last year but the water was very low and gray from ash runoff. I'm pulling a 36' fifth wheel so I'll pass on that pass. Haven't been to Durango for 3 or 4 years.

We have stayed at the old KOA north a couple of time. Last time 3 years ago. Nice campground and they have cabins adjacent the river plus access to the river if you are in a camper.

For those who have been there, can the river front back-in spaces accommodate a 36' fifth wheel with 3 slides? The campground isn't open until May 1 so I can't ask them. The photo on the website shows what appears to be a low tree branch so I'm a bit concerned. I'd love to have the river out my back window.

Plus I think the fishing may be better on the Animas vs. the Uncompahgre.

Measuring on Google Earth it would appear that some of the sites are 50 to 60 feet long.

Not in Durango but Sky Ute Casino has some really nice sites. Nephews a manager so I am a little bias.
