Durango, CO or Maggie Valley NC?
Looking to get out of the Texas heat and humidity for a week or two in early August. Any ideas as to whether Durango or Maggie Valley might be best? Restaurants, things to do, etc.

IIRC, not that much around Maggie Valley besides the casino and the Smokies, which very well might be enough for you. Durango has more attractions within a reasonable drive, and is higher elevation, so you might escape the heat more. Either one is a nice area, though.
