- 96Bounder30EExplorer III was just in Durango 3 weeks ago......We were flexible on which day we rode the train so we did elected to not get reservations.....big mistake! We were a group of 9 and could not get seats together nor the train / bus time that we wanted......I always pick the left side of the train as to see the river below, we had to settle for the right side of the train.......
So, I recommend reservations! - joloooteExplorerDo they still run the Half day tour out of Durango?
- DrbolaskyExplorerI would not risk going without reservations. JMHO
- kalynzooExplorerFun day on the Durango Silverton train. When we went we received a discount because of the advanced reservation. The train was full. The seem really nice and flexible, so when you call for reservations see if they permit you to swap dates if your travel plans are not on schedule.
Enjoy. - Crazy_RayExplorerNO
- yrusosloExplorerRio Grande the only way to go!
- PRodacyExplorerReservations would be a good idea, even if you only call a couple days ahead. As stated, Sept. is a popular time. There are several trains each day, however, so if you're flexible on times you'll have a better chance. We were there last Saturday and tickets were available.
- djsamuelNomadWe were there in mid September a few years ago and were glad we had reservations.
- 4runnerguyExplorerMidweek you can probably still get reservations now, but as you get closer, you may have to be more flexible or be willing to spend more for different accommodations. Mid September is when the leaves are starting to change and it's a popular time.
