Early check in

I've heard of places that let you stay past check out for an additional fee. Has anyone heard of campgrounds or RV parks that allow early check in for an extra fee?

Yes, I understand that it's up to the campground and whether the site is available. I'm curious because the campground I'm currently at has large numbers of campers checking in early and disrupting the normal work flow.

  • CreekFire Motor Ranch in Savannah is the first we have found that charged for early arrival. We didn't arrive early so don't know how strict they enforce it. The only place we found the rules were on the reservation confirmation which stated:

Check in time is 2:00 PM. If you arrive early, keep in mind that your site may not be ready. Early check in fee starts at $10.00-$25.00. Check out time is 11:00 AM. Late check out fee is $10.00 per day and MUST BE APPROVED BY FRONT DESK ONE DAY IN ADVANCE. Late check out will not be allowed past 1:00 PM. Early check in's and late check out's are not a guarantee.
  • Sorry not much to add here but no we haven't come across that before. If we are checking into a CG or resort for a destination stay that we know to be very popular we'll plan to end the day before 100 miles or so away. That way on check in day we get up late, drag our feet, etc. as to not arrive early.
  • Most of the time just call ahead and make sure it's OK, generally no fee unless you want to get there at 0800 or something...heh
