East bound interstate 10 Alabama rest area.

What's your thoughts about overnight at this visitors center in our 5th wheel? Sure would make a nice easy drive on to Destin the next day.

I suspect you are going to find that OVERNIGHT parking at most Interstate REST STOPS locations is not permitted anymore... Check with internet for the ALA locations to see if that is allowed... I believe you are asking about the BALDWIN Rest stop at I10.

We usually end up at WALMART parking lot somewhere...

  • Stayed in rest areas all over the country many nights and in this one you mentioned as well.
  • We spent the night on I59 in Alabama several years ago. It was fine, but we had PLENTY of company. We pulled over about 10pm. Any later and we would NOT have had a spot to stop.
  • It' the Grand Bay visitors center just in Alabama coming from Mississippi. There is a phone number on the website, I will call and see if overnight is allowed.
  • If you want to go farther, the Bass Pro Shop on the east side of Mobile Bay is very welcoming for overnights.
  • We've stayed overnight at a couple different Alabama rest areas on I-65 heading down to Gulf Shores. Never had anyone ask us to leave. As noted above, lots of company, especially trucks.
