Eastern Sierras, CA.....where to stay?

Well, it looks like most places near the coast and major Lakes in CA are all reserved.

So, our next idea is the Sierras.

Looking for something that has direct access to river/lake fishing and RV spots with full hookups. Don't want to have to drive to fish. Would love to cast some flies along a river right in my campground!!

Heard about Brown's Owens River but never been there.

Any of you have any ideas, from personal experiences, on where to stay based on my wants/needs?

Thanks!

  • There are so many excellent places off Hwy 395 - a gorgeous area. Loop around the June Lake loop.
  • East side, look at Silver Lake near June Lake loop.
  • I've only stayed at no hook up spots on the east side of the Sierras.

Western Sierras you should be able to get spots at:

Shaver Lake - Camp Edison is great two other lakes further up the road.

Sequoia RV Ranch near Three Rivers, CA and Sequoia Natl Park and Kings Canyon. Great place to stay right on the Kaweah River. Good fishing and fly fishing. There is a lake nearby as well http://www.sequoiarvranch.com/
