- mfox20ExplorerStayed in the Downtown Riverside RV Park last August for one night. Easy in and out, cheap and clean. Easy walk across one of the bridges into downtown to visit the Clinton library or lots of restaurant choices.Nice trail system connected right at the park.
- DUNEBUGGYDOUGExplorerA little far East from Little Rock but Village Creek State Park north of Forest City and Tom Sawyer Park at West Memphis are both nice
- jnharleyExplorerMaumelle COE is wonderful. That is where we stay.
- Spade_CooleyExplorerWe live in Arkansas and we have often used the Maumell Park. Its only about $10 a night and has views of the Arkansas River. You have a lot of room between sites. You are minutes from shopping. This place makes you think you are in the wild because of the wooded park like setting.
- accsysExplorerDelta Ridge, just off I-40 in Forrest City is a great place if you just need a place to stop. No amenities but has roomy 50A FHU pull-throughs for $25/night.
- rexlionExplorerI don't know places east of Little Rock, but to the west Lake Dardanelle SP is good. Just off the highway, too.

Even at rack rate, it's affordable. Also popular. Call ahead.

(This is downtown park across from Clinton Library that two other posts have also mentioned.) We stayed there in 2011 and loved being right on the river. Gorgeous night view of lights, daytime of kayakers going by.
Note that back then,at least, Passport America rates were only for sites against the wall, not on the river. Also, if this matters to you, they had just a trailer for a couple of bathrooms, so be aware that some of the amenities normally found at RV parks are limited. - aslaksonExplorer
- navybankerExplorerWe have stayed twice in the CG in "North Little Rock" which is right on the river across from the Clinton Library. FHUs and owned by the city. These stops were one nighters and had no problems getting in and out.
- padredwNomadWe have stayed at Maumelle Park which is an unusually nice COE Park. In my opinion worth the little bit it takes you out of the way.
{You would take I-440 around to the North. I won't give all the connecting streets, but then you could pick up I-40 easily to continue your trip after the overnight.}
I would also strongly suggest that you do stop in Little Rock because there is not really a good place to stop between Little Rock and Memphis. (Just my opinion, but that's all we have to give on this forum: opinion based on experience.)
I think your Mother in Law would enjoy Maumelle--quiet and restful.
