Encore CGs

We're Thousand Trails members and some of their CGs are Encore/Thousand Trails and some are Thousand Trails only. At some of the Encore ones, there is no extra cost and at some there is a hefty fee. We're in a T/T at the moment that is also Encore and we haven't had to pay extra. There is one particular Encore/Thousand Trails CG that I really want to try out but DW says it is $60 a night and being a Thousand Trails member we can get a 20% discount (if we can get in on short notice that is).

Can't seem to find much info. and the staff at the office here says it depends on how busy the CG is...

Anyone know the details of how Encore CGs work?
  • We have a TT National membership we bought. We have stayed at some Encore parks but we usually don't know that they are Encore until we show up. We were told it's a matter of when they joined a specific group as to whether we can stay there under our TT membership at no additional cost.

We've not tried to stay out of network at any of the Encore camps and when we are stating outside we usually look for a PA discounted rate for the park.
  • Any park you can book through your on-line member account is considered a TT park for you, no matter which name they have in the title.

My membership includes four Encore parks. I don't pay extra for them. Not even the $4 per day 'resort' fee which almost everyone staying less than 30 days pays.

We visit an Encore only park in south Texas once a year to visit our dentists in Mexico. We stay at the park as Passport America because it is cheaper than our TT membership discounted rate.

I've had good response from TT member services with this type of questions.
  • Your wife is correct. If it is a strictly Encore Park, and you have a Zone Pass, then you receive 20 percent off their nightly rate. The TT/ Encore Parks are the ones with no charge, or minimal charge.

Check your TT magazine. There are sometimes coupons for 50 percent off certain parks and certain dates

What we have found also, is 99 percent of those Encore Parks are Passport America, which will give you 50 percent off the nightly rate, with restrictions of course.
