Estes Park, CO Flooded

Estes Park is flooded severely and the only road in and out or town is Hwy 34 from the west (Trail Ridge Road thru Rocky Mtn NP).

Video we have seen shows Hwy 34 to Loveland nearly completely washed out in many areas so will be a long time for it.

This is, by far, the worse flooding in that area since major floods in 1976 and 1982.

(Sandi, please allow this double posting due to the impact on routes and parks / camping -- thank you).

  • The levels here in Loveland yesterday were higher than during the Big Thompson flood. They say this is a 100 year flood.
I live right above the Big Thompson and will try to take some pictures when it get light. You can hear the roar from the water all night. I am about 40 feet above it on a ridge.
