How late in the fall? Remember when in the mountains in the fall you can encounter freezing temps and/or snow.
In the valley, along the I5 corodore you can expect cool and rain.
The coast, best time of year to visit is mid Septenber to mid October. But again expect cool and rain.
The coast is best visited traveling north to south. Any of the Oregon state parks, plus private parks like Netarts Bay, Salmon Harbor at Winchester Bay are two of the best for views.
