Taquamenon SP is one we are considering for July or August, does anyone have any opinions on it? The rivermouth modern camp looks pretty nice from the pictures.
BUGS. Masses of then. So many bugs the swarms actually look like smoke in the air.
Maybe they're wrapped up by July. I took a grand tour of the UP last June and the bugs were overwhelming towards the end of the month.
You'd get out of the truck and in five minutes have trouble breathing because they're flying into your mouth, trouble seeing with them in your eyes.
They didn't bite that I recall, just really want some salt water I guess?
EDIT: In addendum, I guess bugs was the first thing that popped into my mind, and my train of thought wandered off on my had experience.
Taquamenon Falls State Park is fantastic, and worth the visit, even to get swarmed with bugs.
