Get above 5,000 ft elevation, preferably above 6,000 ft and an area which supports trees.
That will not stop hot days from happening, but what you want is places that get cool at night.
Earlier this week near Dallas, the LOW was 81. It was 91 at midnight, 81 about 5:30 as the sun rose and 90 by 9:30 am. I can't hardly take those kinds of temps any longer when the days never get cool.
