It varies from park to park, as others have said.
I've seen some parks where supposedly 30' was the limit but the sites and roads could easily accommodate a larger rig. I've seen some where the limits listed were quite accurate, and where I've been glad that my class C isn't any larger than the 32' that it is. (Many of the Vermont state park campgrounds date to the CCC days when tent camping was the norm.)
If you can find pictures of the campsites, that's often at least somewhat helpful in evaluating things, though it's still often difficult to judge scale. Quite often the park rangers will have a more accurate idea of what the real limits are than the web sites, too; calling them on the phone can be really helpful.
PNW Steve--Watkins Glen and Letchworth State Park are among my favorites thus far, but perhaps they're a little farther away than you're interested in. The NY state park campgrounds aren't super rustic, with paved access roads and so forth and sometimes even some hookups.
