Don't understand why your current FW doesn't fit your new truck. If it's a case of your new truck is to tall, there are relatively inexpensive ways to raise the trailer.
I've traveled with 30' TT, 35' FW, and my current 8'6" TC. I almost exclusively camp at county, state, and federal parks. The larger I was the more limited on site selection, but only had one campground in CA that I couldn't go to be cause of length with the trailers.
Ideally, the max size trailer would be a 32' FW, 30' TT, or 32' MH. Of course, if you want to travel without reservations and maximize your site selection, go smaller.
