There are state parks in Florida that have no sites over 30ft. Others 35ft and some 40ft. Here it is usually based on site length. Most parks here will have a few sites that are large, but they go fast.
There is one Georgia park that has a 24ft limit based on the road that leads to the campground.
When the kids are gone we plan on downsizing to 30ft.
And then you will find some people do not know their own state - I have camped in many Florida parks in my 35-37 ft MH
I ran a search just now on the Florida res system for next week using different lengths for one night
31 ft 50 parks
35 ft 49 parks
40 ft 45 parks
Sure maybe not many sites at the higher lengths - but they have them
In Florida I am paying $35-47 per night for a full hookup state site
In Texas it is much lower $25-27 and Oregon $33 for those that I have booked for 2018
To keep costs down I stay a minimum of a week at only camps that I can get a weekly rate -typically say 6 get 7 nights which is 15% off
