Feel lucky to be snowbird

We leave Friday for sunny, warm Florida. Wanted to wait until after New Year's but just can't take the weather here anymore. It'll be hard to leave the brand new grandson - thank goodness for FaceTime! Or maybe we can convince Mom and Dad to bring him down? :)

OP here again. Looking at the ice storms north, I'm feeling lucky to be a snow bird again..

Just came in at 9:30PM, temp 78F now. 87 yesterday, 85 today, lows overnight in the high 60s. More of the same tomorrow, but looks like a cold front heading this way for Christmas, weather guy on TV says it might be high 60s to low 70s.

This is in Palm Bay, FL, about in the middle, east coast. Its been a real warm season so far. I know it can change anytime, but still appreciate it!

I hope all that are making the trip late have a safe trip.

The news said tonight that 148 million folks have been affected by the recent artic cold front and winter storms. Here is HOPING things get back to normal SOON! FL is the only area to not be touched. One of the coldest winters I ever spent was in the FL keys one year and I had no long pants:) It got so cold that thousands of fish were killed and were washing a shore. So there is really no area that is truly safe during winter super cold spells in 49 of the states.

Make sure you get this weather thing sorted out by January 1. We will be leaving for the RGV then.
I have never been able to get the DW to go south before the holidays.
This year we did get away to Cancun MX on Nov.30 and fly home Dec.14.
I have been trying to tell her we could go south with the RV in Nov. then fly home for the holidays.
She just tells me that i would only agree to that one year and then would not want to fly home anymore.
I do hate snow and cold.

My thermometer was pegged at 11 degrees all day today. I dont mind cold weather,but it seems like the older I get, the colder the cold feels!!!! I'm a few years from being a Snowbird, but it's beginning to make sense to me. ;-)
