I'm all for non refundable reservations. If you're planning that far out, accept the consequences if plans change. Maybe the refund would be park credit for that season or something?
Sure it's unfair for the working stiff who has a family emergency come up. But the policy would put an end to folks hording sites at multiple parks for the popular weekends and cancelling the unneeded res with only minor penalties.
