Advance Trac Light On / ABS and Crusie Disabled

Has anyone fixed their 2021 Ford E 350 Super Duty? I own a Thor Daybreak 22 GOF. It never fails when driving with cross winds; light comes on. Any fix for this issue ?

  • This is a known issue. You have to reprogram the ABS module with the latest software. You can check for the code with a scan tool to make sure.

  • Your best bet is to turn off Advancetrac prior to driving in a crosswind.  In some models this is done by pressing the traction control button for about 5 seconds +/- (I have no idea if this will work in your particular vehicle. If the warning has already come on, you have to stop, turn off the vehicle, restart it; then disable Advancetrac.

Upon pondering this further, if you are driving in a heavy enough crosswind that you are making steering corrections that are large enough to trigger the ABS/cruise control shutdowns, I wonder if it is wise to be using cruise control in those conditions to begin with.

Hello,  Thanks for the reply. Did not think about turning it off.  Good point. But loosing ABS braking in an emergency represents a safety risk in any situation.   Ford needs to get a fix for this issue permanently. I will definetly try this on HWY 287 and I-40 near Amarillo.
