Firearms in RV

You could be running into park rules versus state law. Park rules would govern IMO
Law states " Any place at the discretion of the person or entity exercising control over the physical location of the place by placing at each entrance to the place a written notice clearly readable at a distance of not less than ten feet (10') that "carrying a handgun is prohibited".

Also why would your girl need a hand gun on her person on vacation?
I do carry a shotgun for protection in my RV so I understand that aspect but carrying a firearm around people who do not know she is a LEO could be disconcerting to them and bring undue attention to you both. I can just see you both being swatted in the middle of the night

People get robbed on vacation too you know. I carry every where I go, Vacation or not. Why? Look at the news. Need you ask?

Arkansas WMA'S are a world of their own. For some reason, according to the Attorney General conclusions that I've read, Ark WMA'S do not fall under "JOURNEY" laws. There seems to be some state laws that trump federal laws which is not suppose to be. Interesting reading.

It looks like the 2013 Arkansas Gun Law changes made it legal to carry in some of these places, but again, the Game and Fish Folks have yet to revise their regulations to reflect state laws. The state law is also up for ammendment due to the language that most believe made open carry legal for "Journey" but the Attorney General says that even though the law says so, that wasn't it's intention and he considers it illegal. So regardless of the Ark governors signature on a law that makes it legal, it's illegal. Even most local sheriff's aren't enforcing it until they have something more concrete than the written law.

You are right to be cautious and to ask questions early rather than (too?) late.

I could be wrong, but I thought I read somewhere that people driving through a place that forbids weapons, if simply driving through on their way to somewhere else, aren't supposed to be charged if caught carrying because that would violate the person's interstate travel rights... but the firearm might have to be unloaded and secured. I know I'm not quoting exactly, but this might give you something to search up.

As for businesses, it would be nearly impossible for them to know if someone were carrying concealed; and all they can do is ask the person to leave, not place the person under arrest or anything.

I have a question...perhaps some of the LEO have a suggestion. I have never carried a firearm in our RV and I have never been in a situation where I might need one. That being said, for a little protection I am considering a stun gun on board the rig. What are your thoughts?

Lol. She was about 200lbs when we divorced. She takes allot better care of herself now and believe it or not, the police department made a huge change for the better for her. I thought she'd be a way bigger you know what after the academy. It seemed to have brought her down to earth. I'm very proud of the cop that she is and the woman she's become. I'm the gun nut and we have allot of really good conversations regarding the law and there is soo much that the police department does not teach. The good cops are the ones that make the effort to learn beyond the academy.

If you want to take it with you, do so and keep your mouth shut. If you end up needing to use it, you will have a lot more legal problems than having a firearm in a state park. The good thing is that you will be around to face the charges.

I asked a legitimate question for those familiar with Arkansas. There are places in Arkansas that carry of any kind is illegal except for on duty officers and I want to make sure of my destination since a simple traffic stop can yield jail time even with an unloaded firearm such as on Arkansas WMA'S and roads that pass through them. It's not about keeping your mouth shut, it's about taking a little responsibility. Arkansas is in the middle of a gun rights dilemma where a tourist can easily wind up spending allot more than they're intention. I open carried for years. Yes...my neighbors know that I'm never without my gun. I make no effort to hide my gun when I exit my truck and slip my holster on my belt when I pull up at home. Depending on where I am, such as an open carry monthly meeting at IHOP, I have no shame of wearing my gun into the friendliest restaurant in town, or when I attend Coffee and Guns at the local Chik FIL A along with my state representative. This is the beauty of living in Louisiana and the right to ask questions before traveling.

HR-218 is the only good answer. Qualify one time a year, carry the 218 card and legal in all 50 states. The range or training officer should know all about it.
