First Time to Florida as a snowbird

I've seldom made reservations anywhere and not had a problem. I do stop
earlier say by 4 as I don't see well at night so that might help. I've noticed later in the evening many places fill up. But so far so good.
It can cost more though just staying a few days here and there and this year I want to go south of Miami, if I go to Florida, that sounds expensive.
