First Time to Florida as a snowbird

Since it's our first time going to Florida as a snowbird is it ok just to go and find places to stay once we are there or should I be making reservations at the different parks that I think I will like.
And since I will be driving from eastern Ontario does anybody have any tips for the interstate 81 to interstate 95 route.

Regards

  • If you're just going to park hop you should be OK without reservations although you might want to call and check the day before. Have a backup park in mind just in case.

Seeing Florida that way for the entire winter will probably cost you 3 legs and 2 arms. Most snowbirds find a decent park and settle in for the season so they get the lowest rates. Since it's your first trip down here, you might consider picking an area and settling in 1 park, then drive around if you want to check other parks.
  • We stayed at Ole Mill Stream, in Umtilla Fl. Had a lot going on an close to everything.
    Good luck an have fun.
