As others have stated, it's all about location.
Tight - yes. Rough "roads" - yes, at least when we were last there in September, 2011. That said - it isn't so bad that I hesitated to book again for this June when we will take our grandson to YS for the first time. I'm hoping some bison will amble through around dusk like they did the last time we were there.
For us, it's just a place to sleep. We're up and out early and don't return until late unless we come back to download photos and relax during the middle of the day when the tour buses flood the Park.
When I decided to book, I called rather than doing it online. Glad I did, I was able to get a day that didn't show as available on the online calendar.
