Fishing Bridge in Yellowstone

We just made our reservations for early June at Fishing Bridge. We are excited that we will be staying inside the park to take full advantage of everything there is to see. I guess we can plan on some pretty cool evening temps at night that time of year, so probably will still need a little heat at night, right? Also, since we have elderly family whom we need to stay in touch with, can anyone tell me about Verizon cell service within the park? Can someone reach us in the event of an emergency? We booked 4 nights so hopefully that will give us plenty of time there. Thanks for any info you can give us!
  • Nearly everyone who needs cell service leave the park to get it. Temps INSIDE the park are very similar to temps just OUTSIDE the park where cell service IS available (like West Yellowstone). On top of that, West Yellowstone is actually more centrally located to MOST of the parks main attractions.
    Good luck / Skip
  • We stayed at Fishing Bridge RV Campground late last August. There was no Verizon cell service in the campground, but we were able to drive a few miles west and get good service. Have a great trip.
  • We were there two years ago so it may have changed since then. The verizon coverage was spotty. It got better down at the store. An external antenna and booster may help. The campground is very crowded, particularly if you are used to state parks. Watch out in the early mornings - there are bears. I ran into one at about 6 AM. Open your door and look both ways before stepping out!
  • Not much cell service in the park of any kind.
We had some at Old Faithful and at Monmouth.
Yes, june could be cool evenings and nights but warm during the day. Snow? yes, it could happen on higher areas.
A true emergency! You could try to locate park headquarters telephone number and call and ask. They would be the only ones with good service and the ability to find you.
