Flagstaff, Az campgrounds

Plan on leaving Alabama the first week in June and heading out to see Grand Canyon and the Utah parks. Wanted to get feedback from those of you who have camped in Flagstaff. What park have you stayed at and did you HAVE to have a reservation more than a day ahead of your arrival? Appreciate your advice.

  • We stayed at Circle Pines KOA in Williams.Nice campground under tall pine trees with full hookups and indoor pool and hot tub.
  • You could always head 30 minutes west of Flagstaff and stay in one of several good parks in Willams, Az. The Grand Canyon is an easy drive from there. Here's a link to PARK REVIEWS IN WILLIAMS
  • Sunset Crater on the north side of Flagstaff and Pine Grove southeast of town are two of our favorites. In early June they should have room for you but I think you can check site availability on their websites. Both are gorgeous and not too far from downtown Flagstaff should you need anything. Here is a picture (taken in September), I took looking back to our site at Pine grove:
