Not impressed with campgrounds in Flagstaff area. KOA, Blackbarts etc. Rather poor quality. Woody Mountain is decent, nice forested spots but bathrooms are a bit rough. To the south on I-17 is Munds Park which has a nice RV park.
We now stay in Williams at Grand Canyon Railroad RV park or Circle Pines RV. Both are very nice. GC RV park is rather new, modern and allows use of their hotels indoor pool nearby. Around Williams is Bearizona drive thru animal park, deer farm petting zoo, Grand Canyon Railroad, Zip Line and Williams itself on route 66.
Keep in mind that late Oct. and early Nov. can be very cold at night. While rare it can snow this time of year in Williams or Flagstaff. Sedona will be warmer.
Distant Drums RV park on I-17 in Camp Verde is very nice. Nearby is the Out of Africa wild life park, Verde Railroad, Indian Ruins and Casino.
