I've been snowbirding to Florida for 6 years and have NEVER made a reservation.
I find an area I like and pull into a CG for a night stay. All of these CG's keep one row open for travelers coming in off the road for the night.
If I like the CG I ask the manager if there are any openings for a month.
Every CG has cancellations or someone moving out early.
Central Florida and a little north of central has some 'very' nice CG's and I have been able to get in each and every year without a reservation. Worst case scenario is after one month I might have to move over one row for the second month.
