Grayton Bch SP, Henderson Bch SP, Florida Caverns SP, in fact every state park in the panhandle will be nice in October
x2 but reservations are required because of the number of snowbirds. - jplante4Explorer IIHo Hum and Topsail Hill were great. You just can't get a better sunrise than HoHum.
Be aware that they are rebuilding sites at Topsail and the construction noise will detract from the experience. Tram to a beautiful beach. - GGeorgeExplorerI know where NOT to stay. Drive thru Mexico Beach!!!!!!
- tnrv_erExplorer IIThank-you for all the replys!! Grayton and Henderson are on the list. Nice to hear folks recommend them.
We will check out some of the other mentioned also.....thanks again!! - dakasa47Explorer

Hi,
We stayed at St Joseph PSP in February. It was our first time in the panhandle. The park is beautiful and quiet. The beach is beautiful. We loved it there and cant wait to go back. I love the Florida state parks. They are some of the best parks we have stayed at in our travels around the country since 2007. - tnrv_erExplorer IIThank-you all for input. A lot of parks mention were booked for the week of Oct we wanted.
We got 7 nites @ Fort Pikens in Pensicola. Anyone stay there? Opinions please. - NORM_WADDELLExplorerFort Pickens is on an island south of Pensacola.
$1 toll to cross the bridge going south, free
going north. Fort Pickens has 4 'loops', and
most people prefer the first ('A') loop. I
don't know why.
After you cross the$1 bridge onto Santa Rosa island,
you will see high rise condos, restaurants, etc.
NO GROCERY STORES....be supplied. You will turn
right and go about 7 miles on a road with NOTHING
but sand..........very pretty. At the campground
there is a store with often-wanted items. At the
end of the island is Fort Pickens, well worth a
visit.
T V reception is by antenna.........no cable T V.
The beaches (north AND south of the campground) are
fine, with clear water and white sand. You will
walk from the campsite to either beach. Maybe
some of the finest beaches in the world.
Pensacola is a good tourist place........check out the
various sites.
P M me for more at nwaddell1@cox.net - tnrv_erExplorer IIThank-you Norm. That was some helpful info!
