Owning a small dog is a real good way to meet alligators.

Been in Florida most of my life never had a problem with a gator. I guess you will not do anything outside the park because gators are in most bodies of water including lakes, ponds, rivers, canals. They are also on nearly every golf course and most anywhere you may go, if you are that afraid of them you may not want to come to Florida.

Try Williston Crossings, Williston FL. There is a lake in the new area, but you can request a site far away from it. If you have a dog, keep them on leash and away from the water.

Did you go across the street and hike next to the lake itself?

No gators! They were here first and probabaly last!

Go to RV Park Reviews and pick one that has what you want and the type of reviews you expect. They all have Ants, Snakes, and Gators like others have stated but where we are only ants. Have fun forget about the small stuff.
