Why are you scared by Yellowstone in May? We were there this past May and it was great. The weather during the day was high 50's,low 60's. At night it got into the high 30's.We had not snow and a little rain one night. The crowds were relatively small and we had no traffic jams. We spent 4 nights in Madison Campground. No hookups but dump station and water. We saw a mother grizzly and 3 cubs walking right down the road towards us. She came right past the van and we got some nice video of that. We ate dinner at the Inn at Old faithful. Good food and prices were decent. It is the largest log structure in the world. The lobby is beautiful. Not everything is open. But there is enough to see. We could have spent 2 more days there. If you want suggestions on places to stop over night and which roads to take send me a message and I'll give you a few suggestions.
