Florida/Texas?

Planning on 2-3 weeks end of Feb first part of March. Coming from Illinois so want warm weather, not iffy like we see in Pensacola the end of March normally. Looking for a beach area. We have stayed (not camped) in Cedar Key, Fl several times and that type of a area, small quite but yet has restaurants, Groceries, etc, is what we are looking for. Also open for either Texas or Florida.
Any ideas?
Thanks
  • second on the Rockport area! Actually we are here now. We are originally from southern IL. Wonderful weather at that time of year and Port Aransas beach is a free ferry ride away. The rockport beach (on Little Bay) is not affected by the spring breakers. If you need more info. or have questions feel free to PM us.
  • I would recommend the Rockport, Texas area just north of Corpus Christi. It's waterfront on the bay rather than the Gulf of Mexico and is not a Spring Break destination. Much less expensive than Florida, too.
  • Spring Break, not the best time to go to the beach unless you want to join the Party.
  • Both Florida and Texas beaches may be over run with college kids at that time.
