fort bragg, CA campgroun

We rarely stay at RV parks, but we like Pomo -- stayed there three times, I think. Also check out Jackson State Forest, a little ways east on Hwy 20. Essentially boondocking in the redwoods.

. . .FYI Pomo is NOT on the beach; few blocks away; drove THRU it once. . . YMMV

I stayed at Pomo campground about a year ago; had no issues with the woman at the desk, walked the dog all over the campground and didn't see any "trashy" sites or rigs.

The one place *I* would take of the list is Caspar Beach; jammed together sites and arbitrary policies do not appeal.

The OP might want to read reviews (look at the dates) on the campgrounds in question on rvparkreviews.com for a broader set of opinions and "ratings".

I also thought of Fort Bragg, NC - being retired military.

Never knew there was a Fort Bragg, CA - looked it up on a map. Thanks for the thread, next late April/ early May we will be traveling up the north CA coast and are now planning to visit that area.

Been to Pomo. Never again. Yes some of the sites are great, but not all. Also as mentioned in lots of reviews the desk lady's attitude needs some toning down. We're super easy to get along with people and all we did was mention that we wanted to stay one day less than our reservation was for and she all huffy. As far as the sites go yes there are some really nice ones but also some that aren't. We were put into a back in site and behind us was a trailer with junk all over the place. It was clear that they were full timers and were hardly there. Stuff was stored under, around and on top of the trailer. It seems that the management didn't care that others would be looking at that mess.
