Heading out in August to see the country and watch the meteor showers. Where do you like to stay in that area? Planning on visiting Marfa and Alpine also.

spring fed pool is really nice. Balmorhea is a bit far away if you plan on a star party at the observatory. Watch out for deer on the side of the road at night.
