Fort Wilderness with pets

I know this has been answered before, but I cannot find it.

Can someone explain which loop I should ask for at Fort Wilderness when bringing pets? We have a 25' class a. (2 adults)

Also, should we get a premium, preferred, or full hook up?

Any insight appreciated

I don't let them put me 'by' the dog park simply because I have a dog.

It is a constant barrage of barking and unruly dogs going past your site 24 7's. I ask for a site as 'far away as possible' from the dog park.

Worth the little extra walking distance to take you dog out and have a nice quiet CG site to enjoy your stay.

There are a lot of loops that allow pets. The 300 Loop is across from a dog park and very popular with dog owners. Just request a pet friendly loop when you make reservations. You can't reserve a specific loop or site, but you can request a specific loop. They do a pretty good job honoring the request.

The main difference between the preferred and full hook up sites is that the preferred have a little less sand. Premium sites have the most concrete, nicer picnic tables and nicer grills. Disney has more Premium sites than anything else.

If I am not mistaken, there are only 4 Full Hook up loops and they are all together, 1600 - 1900 loops (I believe). They are centrally located between the pool and the settlement, although a little closer to the pool.

We have stayed in full hook up, preferred and premium. We like the 1600, 1500, 1400 and 800 loops. 1400 loop is our favorite, although some of the sites are hard to get into with large rigs. We've stayed at the 300 loop, which is nice, but too many barking dogs for our taste. The 100 loop, 200 loop and 400 loop are nice also. They are outside the settlement, so a little further away from the Pool, but close to the dog park.

  • We have heard that FW is a really great campground. Sounds like we can go with a regular full hook-up, in a pet loop.

While they don't like fireworks, we deal with them on the 4th, so we should be ok.

I do believe all the sites are full hookup, unless you specify a "tent site", which is one or two loops. The fireworks are pretty far away from the campground. The premium sites are a little larger, but all the sites at Fort Wilderness are, at a minimum, really good.

It has been a few years since we've been there, there might have been changes.

Once you stay at Fort Wilderness, you won't want to visit Disney World any other way!
  • How are are they with fireworks? They are our problem with ours. Terrifies her.
  • When you make your reservations let them know you'll have pets so they'll put you in a pet loop. As far as the type of site you get, that will depend on your camping habits, a 25' MH will fit on any site. The DW and I always get a premium site because we spend a lot of time outside and like more room plus the premium site is all paved, I'm not a fan of having half my trailer resting in sand and tracking it into the trailer.
