Forts visited or worth visiting
What are some forts you have visited that were interesting or worth seeing again. Any type of fort. There are two that I know of in Michigan. I'd recommend both. Fort Mackinac on Mackinac Island ...

Two of my favorite, although they are very different:
Fort Schuyler, SUNY Maritime College, Bronx NY SUNY Maritime my alma mater. 19th Century harbor fortification to protect NYC. Used today as Maritme Museum and classroom space. Excellently preserved. Open to the public.
Saint Marie among the Hurons, Midland, ON Canada Fort Saint Marie This is more a stockaded settlement than an actual fort but it does have walls and there were battles fought here.
