Another vote for Fort Stevens. A fascinating place and sits in stark contrast to the nearby small summertime vacation town of Seaside.
If anyone ever gets to Vancouver Island, Fort Rodd Hill is very interesting and located on sprawling grounds near Victoria. Originally built in the 1890s to protect the Esquimalt Naval Yard, it last saw active use in WWII for the potential invasion by the Japanese.
