- 2gypsies1Explorer IIIGeez...you can get valley fever just by living inside your S&B house. You can also get the flu by going to the grocery store.

This is discouraging!!! We haven't seen anything on it in the papers here, but that doesn't mean anything. However, their city politics rivals ANYTHING I've seen in Oregon!!!!!
I dont remember when they were to begin breaking ground for the new solar farm up by plomosa (maybe '15?), but if they are out there grading, find somewhere else.
When they put in the last solar farm over in Ca. the rate of valley fever skyrocketed during and afterwards. The fungus is in the dirt and they will be moving and exposing a LOT of dirt getting every thing level.
you are always at risk of getting valley fever in the southwest. the risk goes up in dust storms and way up when a lot of dirt is moved by construction. there's plenty online about the solar plant in Ca. and the valley fever outbreak. clicky
Another aspect to consider is 4 wheeling on atvs. If you are breathing dust from the atv in front of you, you are more than likely breathing spores. - RVUSAExplorer

The above is shown on the Advanced Search page. I was thinking of searching 'Quart*' (because most spellings get that right) but it doesn't work. Just something else that doesn't work on here. - amandasgrammaExplorer

Next I need to learn the spelling before I go looking.

- 2oldmanExplorer IIFor really quiet and less-busy camping, take Plomosa toward Bouse. Just after the summit you'll find some really nice big areas. Only problem is, Verizon doesn't work there - at least not last year.
- Mello_MikeExplorerThe closest BLM areas to the big tent show are Dome Rock and Scadden Wash. We like to stay at Scadden. Here's a basic map outline I made a few years ago of the free BLM camping areas:
