Wow. I have been going to Galveston for over 20 years and I don't think I would have ever described it this way except after a hurricane possibly. Sorry you were so disappointed. Is it the nicest city around? No, but is it as you describe? Never.
OK, I'll give this city the benefit of the doubt. However, I am not lying. This is exactly what we found when we were there. Maybe we just caught them at a bad time.
