Ah, such helpful suggestions and thanks to everyone that responded.
pawatt: I'm a winter Texan and having been staying in Rockport or Corpus since 2004 and I've done everything you mentioned except Goliad State Park. One thing you left out maybe because it's fairly new is the lighting of the bridge over the aircraft carrier. Very impressive.
Bumpyroad: he he he, I've actually had my RV on the Aransas Pass Ferry twice and no such thing as the stop and frisk lane.
2112: OK you've convince me to take the route you suggested. Since we are staying 2 nights at Galveston SP we will take you up on the stay on the bay side.
John & Joey: Yes it is the drive down the Bolivar Peninsula that has my interest. I've never forgotten or never will my first glimpse of that steep bridge I believe it's in Lake Charles and/or the I 610 bridge in downtown Houston, both had me shaking in my boots. While we've thought about it we haven't stayed in Galveston before but will keep your suggestion in mind seeing as how for the past 3 years in January and again this year we will drive up to Galveston from Rockport and take one of those cruises. We've did the RCCL for the past 3 but this year we will be doing the Carnival one. We love balconies and Carnival prices are about $400 cheaper.
daamac: We've actually driven right up to the entrance-way of the ferry without our 5th wheel in Galveston but didn't get on since we were staying down in Rockport
RoyB: We've been to Houston a bunch of times but never to Brewskis, perhaps some day?
