Georgian Bay question

Does anyone have suggestions for favorite campgrounds along the Georgian Bay. There seems to be a lot of campgrounds to choose from. Also any suggestions about biking in that area would be appreciated.

  • Wasaga beach has a trail 11km that run the shoreline, shopping and picnic areas. There are various campgrounds nearby.

Parry Sound has quite a few trails and areas to camp

You will find many campgrounds and bike trails. Once you choose where you are wanting to be in general there are many trails.

Most of the rail tracks in Ontario have been removed and are now made into really good trails. Rail transport is nothing like the US anymore. There is just not the need, or at least the government sees no need ,LOL
  • Thank you that sounds just like what we are looking for. DH had major foot surgery, and although he loves mountain biking, he needs to avoid it for awhile. I appreciate the help.
  • What kind of biking are you looking for. The Georgian trail is hard packed on an old rail line. Runs from Meaford to Collingwood. A good base would be Craigleith Provincial park, right on Georgian Bay and the trail.
Meaford has a good municipal serviced park on Georgian Bay with a sand beach.
There is mountian biking down Blue Mountian ski hill in the summer if you are that brave.
