Glacier National Park

The east side is more nature and hiking; the west side is more commercial.

In regards to paying a premium to stay at the west KOA over many very nice parks I ask this question - are you going to Glacier to play in pools, etc, or are you there to see Glacier? Very many nice ones to choose from and some much closer to the Park.

Kalispell and Whitefish are much further away from the Park yet.

We have been to both east and west sides, the west side has so much more to offer. If you want to visit the east side just drive the Going to the Sun Road. The west side has many more campgrounds to choose from. The KOA, Columbia Falls RV Park, and Parks in Whitefish and Kalispell. Have fun the west side is beautiful.

Another vote here for the West Glacier KOA. Guessing it's probably already booked up though.

on my once in a lifetime visit to Glacier I'm not going to worry about a few extra bucks on the campground. as previously stated, the one on the West side was great.

My recommendation is Mountain Meadows at Hungry Horse on the West side. It is one of our favorite campsites.

KOA on the east side. KOA on west side very expensive; I would look elsewhere. It has been a few years since we have been there (been there 3 times) so I am passing on making a recommendation there - there are some good places.

We stayed at the KOA in St. Mary too. Good campground. Fantastic staff. They have a dog sitting service., Car rentals if you need and supplied me with a ladder and equipment so I could wash 2500 miles of bugs off the front my our RV.

We stayed at the east KOA in St Mary’s. I do recommend it. Note that Verizon was the only cell service, and their WiFi was poor, but this is typical of most campground wifi.

One thing to think about when staying on the East end of Glacier is the wind. Back in July last year the wind blew so hard that we had to close up the trailer to keep the dust out almost every day we were there. It gusted up to 50 miles an hour, something we hadn't considered when making reservations. Next time we'll stay on the West side
