Forum Discussion
- pawattExplorerWell, I guess we have had this discussion before with similar results.
- pianotunaNomad IIIHi,
I full time in my RV. My energy foot print is much lower than when I lived in a house. I use about 19,000 btu's to keep warm at -36 C (-33 f).intheburbs wrote:
I do find this thread amusing, especially on an RV forum.
To those speaking in support of AGW, do you not see the hypocrisy of having this discussion on this forum?
"Yup, AGW is really bad. That's why I've logged 5000 miles with my rig getting 6 MPG." - intheburbsExplorerI do find this thread amusing, especially on an RV forum.

Then all I can say is you're paying attention to different facts than I am. And it must be some kind of conspiracy.
Thing is NONE of it is coming true. Nothing they say with happen does.
And from this point there's not much more I can say. - TerryallanExplorer II

No, they don't.
However. the chicken littles don't help them selves with wild predictions that don't come true.
However, we should remain focused on the preponderance of evidence, not wild predictions made by those with an agenda. That always happens.
The facts remain: we are dumping billions of tons of CO2 into the air, more than all the volcanoes put together, we have records of CO2 concentrations going back some 800,000 years from Arctic ice cores, and we keep track of the oceans' temperatures.
Science is not perfect - never will be - but don't dismiss what we know simply because somebody said something that didn't come true. Remember the instructions to a jury: it's guilt beyond a reasonable doubt, not beyond ANY doubt.
Thing is NONE of it is coming true. Nothing they say with happen does. Hey y'all the ice caps are melting. No they are not. Hey y'all. the planet temp is rising. NO it is not. You'd think that would hit SOMETHING, and then when NONE of what is predicted comes true. They back peddle. Like, OH well the ocean is keeping the temp normal. WELL DUH!!! That is what it does.
So what we know, is they have been wrong about every thing they have said, EVERYTHING. and then lied about it. Lost all credibility. - 2oldmanExplorer II

Supposed to get down into the 30s here in North Florida tonight.
I'm no scientist, so my view on global warming is this - two world renowned meteorologists say that there's no proof of manmade global warming, it's good enough for me. John Coleman, co-founder of the weather channel and William Gray, the scientist that the US has used to do hurricane predictions since the 80s say it ain't so - it's good enough for me.
John Coleman is not a scientist. For more info, click Snopes: John Coleman "refutes" global warming.
Thank you, Aprilwhine. I didn't know that. I was basing my comments on something I read on a blog. It's a bad practice and I should have known better. - TerryallanExplorer II

The "global warming" is in the areas of the world that are normally cold, such as the poles. Thus, melting ice raising the sea levels.
While the poles are warming the temperate zones are cooling. Thus the polar vortex we hear often mentioned.
Bottom line is major weather changes for our planet, mostly caused by man.
However. the chicken littles don't help them selves with wild predictions that don't come true. Like the "scientist" that told Nixion that due to global warming. Manhattan Island would be 3 feet under water by the year 2000. Uh. where is the water? Also. This year the polar ice is wider, and thicker than it was just 2 years ago. Al Gore said it would be gone. What about the predictions of warming given the fact that the earth has not warmed even a tiny bit in the last 20 years.
While I agree the planet's climate is in a continual change as it goes thru it's normal cycles. Pretty sure that people don't have anything to do with it, can't stop it, or hurry it along. And I guess IF you have to blame a living animal. Your "scientist" say the the main cause of "climate change" is COW FARTS. - pianotunaNomad IIIHi 2oldman,
Careful, we would not want to learn from this. Far better to keep an Ostrich approach to Global Climate change. - 2oldmanExplorer II
