Good campgrounds Washington DC area
What are some good campgrounds close to DC?

Cherry Hill is popular but is not the only game in town & at $65-$70 per night certainly not in the inexpensive range.
Lake Fairfax Park, Reston, VA. at $45PN is cheap compared to Cherry Hill. A Metro station is not far away & it is not near any major highways with the 24 hour drone of traffic.
Take it a few steps further, Bull Run Regional Park, Manasses, VA. at under $40PN & also drivable to a Metro line end is also a nice quiet CG most of the time. (there is a shooting range in the park).
I'm thinking a DC visit will be 4 nights minimum. At least $280 at Cherry Hill vs <$180 at one of the others.
