Definitely stay IN the park for the greatest scenic experience and ease in doing the attractions and wonderful hikes. Colter Bay campground (next door to the RV park) and Gros Ventre campground are our favorites. Each has 300 sites. Take a gentle float trip ride down the Snake River in the park and you'll most likely see a moose or two in the river, too! Hiking is for all abilities. Enjoy your trip. If you need major groceries or fuel by the time you enter the area, you'll find a couple big groceries at the south end of the town of Jackson, along with fuel. Fuel in the parks is always more expensive.
