Grayton beach

I will be over there at the end of the month in the FHU loop (site 38). So looking forward to it. Can you give us a seaweed report? Is the water clear right now?

I saw some seaweed floating late this evening and the purple flag is flying right now. I haven't tried fishing yet maybe tomorrow. The seaweed didn't look to thick but the gulf was pretty rough. Can you give me any tips on fishing in western lake? Thanks I'll give a update sometime tomorrow or Friday on the condition of the seaweed.

Not a fisherman, sorry. What was present in the water to warrant the Purple flag?

Purple Flags are up due to large numbers of jellyfish.

If they would put in sewer hookups in the older section, it would make it a nice park...We stayed in the new section. The main thing i didn't like was no shade and all that gravel...

@fla-gypsy just got back from the gulf and yes the seaweed is there it is pretty thick just off shore. The water is clearing up and didn't see many jelly fish. Full hook ups in the old part would be nice as long as it didn't mess with the private feeling. To me the full hookup side the sites are close together and not alot of shade.

Only problems we found were the burrs that were all over the ground. Those burrs got in our dogs paws and caused a great deal of pain for the dogs. Lovely place and priced much better than Topsail a few miles down the road.

We still prefer Topsail over Grayton. We like the landscaping and ammenities that come with it over Grayton. But we much prefer Grayton's location, next to Seaside.

@fla-gypsy we left today. The last two days the water has cleared up real nice and the seaweed is just about gone, but the further you get out in the gulf the jelly fish are worse. Maybe they will be gone by the time you get there. It was a very good trip on a beautiful beach. Only down side for me was that the fish were not biting. We are already looking forward to next year going back.
